A suggestion for the online manual. In Debian, changing the home and/or download folders, involves adding entries to the file /etc/evironment. It would be good to have that listed in the manual. It's easy enough to do, but only if you know which file to add entries to. It took me a while to find the relevant file.

It may be helpful to cut and paste the below:

"Changing the gpodder Home Folder on Debian

Open the file /etc/environment in your text editor. Add one or two of the following lines (depending on whether you want to change both these variables or just one):

GPODDER_HOME=[path to directory you want to use] - eg. 
GPODDER_HOME=/media/BigDisk/Podcasts/
GPODDER_DOWNLOAD_DIR=[path to directory you want to use]

The changes should then take effect after restarting."
