In regards of dropping support of Java 7, the backport classes brought by threeten are no longer needed. In an effort to deprecate the usage of threeten classes, we will follow a deprecation plan involving threeten classes being marked as @ObsoleteApi, while the newly introduced java.time classes will be the recommended ones.
