keyboard shortcut to abort partial prompt #789

Description

@ptone

This is one of the small things I haven't found a good muscle memory replacement for: In shell I use ctrl-c all the time to abort a partially written command when I change my mind on approach. GC does the right thing by trapping this to confirm shutdown, but I haven't seen/found an alternative. Would something like shift-escape be viable?
