Solution

In the QNAP integration site in the /etc/config/nss_ldap.conf file that needs some improvements.
There is this comment line

# see https://ldapwiki.com/wiki/GroupOfUniqueNames%20vs%20groupOfNames

The URL in this comment no longer exists. The working one is:

# see https://ldapwiki.com/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=GroupOfUniqueNames%20vs%20groupOfNames

Further add this to the config file:

# Authentik has no memberUid therefore switch to
nss_schema rfc2307bis

Then QNAP can query the direct group members and even indirect group members through tons of bulk group queries.
