ghostty already supports popups requesting the user for permission I guess it doesn't inform the program in that case (it doesn't really need to know if it was allowed to do something with your clipboard) |

The main benefit to this IMO is that the app can request rich data by specifying MIME types, which is something OSC 52 definitely cannot do. It also allows for chunked data transmissions, so in theory at least the payload can be megabytes or even gigabytes large — it's not super well-defined what OSC 52 should do in that case, which can lead to subtle issues. |

That is wrong claude can interact with the clipboard natively if you have a tool like xclip or wl-clipboard that doesnt work over ssh though. osc5522 will work over ssh |
