Chris Borge just published a video about his new 3D printed Modular CNC Controller, which he designed to fit within a 10" rack space.
His approach consists of multiple 1U modular stacking 'blocks', which are tied together with threaded rod, and uses nuts embedded inside the block.
In the video, Chris said he'll publish the parts at some point (he'll link to them in the video description), but he had some incorrect measurements.
I couldn't find Chris on GitHub, so didn't tag him here, but would be fun to see his modular system get added as it includes an interesting feature, the ability to have different widths in a modular fashion, so you could have some half or quarter-rack side-by-side equipment, without a modular system like LabStack mini.
