the arrow-down disabled icon is missing here is an example one

the FontView hintingNeeded color is too similar to the others,

even changing font size from 12pt to 8 is readable, before the bloat make the UI more cramped..
also there does not seem to be an option to control the fontGrid's color or opacity,
change the black-lines(harsh) to a gray perhaps.

for all machines, regardless of operating system it applies the same settings,
but for example on a windows machine a person is unlikely to have dejavu-sans installed,
perhaps some changes to xresource
fontforge.FontView.FontSize: 8
fontforge.FontView.FontFamily: Roboto Condensed,calibri,noto sans,segoe ui,dejavu sans,fontview,source code pro,consolas,noto sans CJK sc demilight,courier,monospace,clearlyu,unifont
for some reasons the color-pickers and some dialogs are cut-off also
(e.g. open-file, check-errors, )
manual workaround for windows is to resize it bigger, but has to be done every time.
it would be better if it wouldn't clip-itself by default
lower default tooltip-popup hover (1000ms to 150 ms) time?

it might make it less tedious to these settings if there were an option to make the elements 'flash/blink'
e.g. (when mouse hovers over them, or all elements in current x-resource tab) to show what it effects
also could some of the colors have separate when mouse-hover or has-keyboard-focus
where it is bolder, and more muted when not,
then more optional UI e.g. metrics-lines could be enabled by default without being harsh/cluttered
the offset icons files in fixed in dad4fb5
