Description
Steps to reproduce
- Using a
SearchAnchor - Show suggestions since
SearchAnchoropens view - SuggestionsBuilder makes an API call that takes around 500ms or 1s
- Suggestions view doesn't show anything after API call response.
I have a use case where I need to present a SearchAnchor that must show suggestions since it opens, so the user can select directly from the initial suggestions. The thing is that these suggestions are fetched from backend, so when the API call takes a while let's say 500 ms, or worst 1s, the suggestionsBuilder doesn't show anything even when the suggestions are properly loaded... in fact if I hide the keyboard in the screen the suggestions appears so it seems a matter of a widget refresh that is not taking place.
If the API call doesn't take too much let's say 10-100 ms, suggestions shows just fine... but API calls could take longer in avg case.
Expected results
Suggestions should be shown after the API call finishes no matter the delay of the API call.
Actual results
Suggestions are not showing up when API call takes around 500ms - 1s
Code sample
This sample code is taken from SearchAnchor docs specifically the last sample code, the only change is in _FakeAPI.search function to make it return the list of options when query is empty. Line 116
