Discovered as part of flutter/packages#3367
The test file
https://github.com/flutter/packages/blob/74fd094884fe97bd04eb461e6b96ea6eda11a3b2/packages/espresso/example/android/app/src/androidTest/java/com/example/MainActivityTest.java was found to be broken on main. This happened because the tooling was excluding integration tests from running.

This ticket tracks enabling java integration tests and adding back the functionality covered by the deleted tests.
