Icon bar still shows on every app launch #742

Hi, I’m using Arch Linux with Hyprland and firefoxpwa 2.16.0.
I enabled the flag firefoxpwa.enableHidingIconBar in about:config.

In the generated web app profile’s prefs.js, I can see:
user_pref("firefoxpwa.hideIconBar", true);

However, when I launch a web app (for example WhatsApp Web or Netflix), the icon bar always appears by default.
To hide it, I still have to manually uncheck the “icon bar” option inside the app window at every launch.

This setting used to persist automatically before (once unchecked, it stayed hidden unless I toggled it back manually). Now it doesn’t work anymore, even though the preference is clearly written to prefs.js.

Steps to reproduce:

Install WhatsApp Web or Netflix as a web app.

Enable firefoxpwa.enableHidingIconBar = true in about:config (CTRL +L) and Close the WebApp with CTRL+W.

Launch the app → Click on the icon bar and uncheck it.

Reopen the app and the icon bar still there.

Environment:

Arch Linux, Hyprland (Wayland)

FirefoxPWA 2.16.0 and extension 2.15.0

Firefox 143.0.1

Tested with WhatsApp Web and Netflix for now

Thank you! Have a nice day!

EDIT: Extension updated to 2.16.0 but I've the same problem
