•Last updated This milestone tracks the minimum set of work required to mark GeneralsXZH as stable for public use on the current cross-platform stack.
Stable means:
- Game launches reliably and reaches the main menu
- Core gameplay (skirmish) is playable without critical regressions
- Required assets setup is documented and reproducible
- Linux distribution path is defined and testable
- No known release-blocking graphics defects remain open
Release Blockers (Required)
- Fix animated object shadow rendering issues (fbraz3/GeneralsX#15)
- Finalize Linux packaging strategy and pipeline (fbraz3/GeneralsX#44)
- Automate and validate game assets setup flow (fbraz3/GeneralsX#73)
- LAN gameplay works reliably end-to-end (fbraz3/GeneralsX#86)
Post-Stable / Optional for This Milestone
- Windows x64 modern build (SDL3 + DXVK + OpenAL) (fbraz3/GeneralsX#29)
Out of Scope
- New gameplay features or balance changes
- Major refactors unrelated to release stability
- Non-critical visual polish not affecting playability
