I am not sure this is right, or maybe I am misunderstanding the documentation. Generals (and zero hour) can be played on linux under steam. The data files are located at ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/x where x is the name of the game. I just copied the x directory to ~/GeneralsX and changed the name to GeneralsZH for Generals zero hour and it appears to work just fine with the flakpak file you generate.
