I tried another sensor at 125kHz, this time it was this one.
It has much better sensitivity than RDM6300 or RF125-PS.
It reliably detects at a distance of about 4 cm.
There is written, that the supply voltage is 5V, but I have also tried 3.3V and it works completely reliably.
I have added support for this sensor also to the rfid125kHz library.
BTW: I am also preparing my own PCB (something similar to @nardev)
