Context

Old input controls had an “Apply” button so the user could decide the filters before sending the request to fetch the data.

This has been requested for the new controls several times and it has some important benefits for dashboards that deals with a lot of data because:

• It improves dashboard loading times by skipping unnecessary queries
• It decreases costs by minimizing number of useless requests

Solution

• Add a configuration option in the controls settings that shows an “Apply” and "Clear" options (we can skip the "Cancel changes" from the old controls). Off by default.
• These options will apply for all the controls in a dashboards
• Question: what happens with the time slider?
