In 6.x we need to be able to select which node receives a request by node name. This implements that. Relates to elastic#30523

I believe I need this to backport #30523 to 6.x and I think it should also live in master as well. |

I talked to @javanna about this and I think I might implement this instead with node attributes. We already planned to implement a filter for node attributes. |
