Describe the bug
When dotnet watch does an automatic restart due to rude edits, or a manual restart is triggered via Ctrl-R, it opens a new browser tab rather than refreshing the existing tab. Also, the new browser tab loads to the root of the application rather than the page I was previously working on.
The .NET 8 SDK reloads the existing browser tab and stays on the current page when a restart occurs.
To Reproduce
- In the project attached here, navigate to the directory where the
.csproj file is located and run
dotnet watch run --project .\WasmStandalone.csproj
- Observe that a new browser tab opens with the application, on the "Home" page.
- Navigate to the Weather page on the left-side nav bar
- In the command line, type
Ctrl-R to request a manual restart
- Observe that another new browser tab is opened, to the "Home" page of the app.
