The problem

When a commit is selected in the History pane, the commit message is displayed with all whitespace at the beginning of lines stripped. E.g. a commit message that contains a manually-formatted list like

  4) Temporarily disables auto-deployment of torpedo baffles in
     thermal exhaust port due to safety incident DS-99593201142

displays as

4) Temporarily disables auto-deployment of torpedo baffles in
thermal exhaust port due to safety incident DS-99593201142
