Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

As a participant I'd like to have the option for only receive private messages from people that I already follow.

Describe the solution you'd like

I want to have an option "Receive messages from everyone" on my user profile checked by default on the Notifications page of my user account.

Describe alternatives you've considered
To have this as an option opt-in (something like 'I want to receive private messages from only the people that I follow') but this would effectively kill this feature (as most people wouldn't even know that this exists)

Twitter (and other Social Networks) has implemented this already:

Acceptance criteria

• As a participant if I uncheck the option "Receive messages from everyone" I can only receive messages from people that I follow
• As a participant if I check the option "Receive messages from everyone" I can receive messages from every participant on the platform
• As a new participant this is checked by default
