Overall this looks fine to me. I am wondering now if it might be better to expose an interface for users to register/override compressors, instead of hardcoding in which implementations are used. Thoughts? |

A general system would be nice. I'm in favor of waiting until we have a couple more of these requests before building out a general system. |

Found an easy solution for efficient seek in xz files by using lzmaffi if available.
