Newly generated wallets can not be encrypted (v0.16.1.0) #3817

@qwizzie

Description

@qwizzie

On a newly generated wallet trying to encrypt the wallet, it asks for a wallet passphrase to decrypt the wallet. Yet wallet is not even encrypted. So instead of doing an encrypt action, wallet ends up doing a decrypt action.

Problem seems to occurs in both the Dash Core Windows 64bit Installer and the Dash Core Windows 64bit Zip file. (v0.16.1.0)

Can you reliably reproduce the issue?

If so, please list the steps to reproduce below:

  1. Make new wallet
  2. Try to encrypt the wallet
  3. Wallet asks for wallet passphrase to decrypt wallet

Expected behaviour

wallet performs encrypt action

Actual behaviour

wallet performs decrypt action

What version of Dash Core are you using?

Dash Core Windows 64bit Zip file v0.16.1.0 (same problem has also been reported wit the Windows 64bit Installer). I got the binary Zip file from Dash Github. Fully verified.

Machine specs:

  • OS: Windows 10 Pro, 64bit, version 2004
