It seems that even on devices with SD card, all settings and internal state are saved on the device itself and only some settings are mirrored to the SD card.
I hereby feature wish for the user to be able to choose to primarily save all settings, internal state, data etc. to SD card only, so that different firmwares can be used and tested on the device without interfering with each other, and making backups and transfers easier.
(If needed, provide two different firmware variants.)
The closed source "Ripple" firmware, which is the "official" MeshCore firmware for T-Deck and some other devices, has a variant "Data on SD card", so it actually is possible.
