Getting buffering issue on root variant ?

Use regular Google Play Services (not microG)
Install original YouTube app (any version 17.x 18.x) and play any video on that, if it buffering even on original YouTube app, let it buffer for ~5 minutes then try reinstall root variant.

Why no more new version for Android 6 & 7 ? :

Google dropped YouTube app support for both Android 6 & 7 from version 17.35.xx+, and Vanced/ReVanced are based on original YouTube app, because version 17.35.xx+ was compiled for Android 8+ and above, its impossible to make it compatible with older Android without YouTube app source code which we doesn't have access to them because its completely private and only YouTube/Google can access to them

Yeah, project has been discontinued but this is old version i found on my hard drive that bulit before discontinuation day
YouTube has dropped support for Android 6 & 7 since 17.35.xx, so the last official version support for Android 6 & 7 is 17.34.36 but with spoof app version, its can install up to 17.39.35. There is no way to install 17.40.xx and above on Android 6 & 7 because the base only support Android 8+ and spoof to 17.40.xx+ from 17.34.36 base will break the app due to recent server-side layout change
