What problem are you facing?

Per crossplane/crossplane#5522 we're removing external secret store support in Crossplane v2. Support is already gone from core - XRs and claims can no longer write to external secret stores.

How could Crossplane help solve your problem?

We should remove support from crossplane-runtime as well, which then implies removing it from the provider ecosystem as well.
