The current way of creating PATs for authentication to private GHCR images is cumbersome. Especially if GHCR is adopted in an enterprise, it adds extra steps to employee onboarding.

Proposed solution

Add gh auth configure-docker (similar to how gcloud does it) and have Docker use gh as a credential helper for ghcr.io.
