Data standard: Case, mortality, recovered, active case data #2

Description

Special considerations for active cases:

  • Active cases are generally defined as cumulative cases - recovered - deaths but some provinces calculate them differently (not to mention that the definition of recovered also differs between provinces and over time within provinces)
    • BC: “Active cases exclude those cases who have died, recovered/discontinued isolation or been lost to follow up.” This leads to there being more active cases when calculated in the standard way since there are some cases that have been permanently lost to follow up.
