I've been using Simple RSS Widget for the longest time, so I'm so thankful there's finally a FOSS alternative now.
Though I miss the image thumbnail support for visual context. I know many RSS feeds don't include it, but sites like OpenRSS (which sadly seems down at the moment) can parse news sites into RSS feeds with images even if the site doesn't offer them officially, like Reuters and AP News, so it might be a good idea to add it to the app when it's back up. I'd just suggest implementing a way to extract the true thumbnail URL to bypass tracking redirects which are pretty common.

I also miss the option to open the article in-app, though to be honest I'd prefer a popup window/overlay to read just the raw full body text (preferably in dark mode, or just following the system theme) without web distractions, and for faster loading/responsiveness.

Also it'd be nice to have the option pull down to refresh more easily. Anyhow, just my 2 cents. Keep up the great work! 👍
