are you referring to the "notifications" thing?
From my understanding that was just related with home screen notifications,
sounds/leds, etc...not with in-app warnings, dialogs, etc.
But I'm sure you have more information than we do ;) Good to know!

According to the BB10 UI guidelines, if inline notifications are not
possible a "toast" should be considered.
Right now there is no way to easily show a notification/message/error in a
"toast" using WebWorks or bbUI.js
