OK, so this revealed some python3.8 failures. Nevertheless, if that's the only issue, I'll go ahead and merge and will shuffle the backports accordingly to make sure everything passes on the branch as addressing that failure is not relevant to this config PR. |

Failure have been fixed in backportable PRs, what's important here is that the new jobs are passing, and since the 4.0.x branch has been rewinded, the 3.8 job, too. So I go ahead and merge this now. |
