The following will be officially deprecated in astropy v8.0 when #17883 is merged:

  • astropy.test
  • astropy.tests.runner.TestRunnerBase
  • astropy.tests.runner.TestRunner

As per APE 2, I think these can be removed in astropy v9.0 or later. Please correct me if I am wrong. Do not merge such a PR until main is marked for v9.0.0.dev or later.
