Markdown formatting is documented here but there's no documentation of how to enable or use markdown formatting in the editor (ruff-vscode README and/or in the editors section).

We should add some documentation explaining how to enable markdown formatting in editors (and if it conflicts with other formatters, how to resolve that, what the recommended workflow is)
