[Bug] Claude Code inconsistently recognizes Chrome extension integration state #14590

Bug Description

⏺ You're right, I apologize for the confusion. The Claude in Chrome extension is a separate thing - it's a Chrome extension that lets Claude control the browser, not an MCP server.

The mcp__claude-in-chrome__* tools I've been trying to use are the wrong thing entirely. Those are MCP tools, but the actual Chrome extension works differently.

Let me check how the Chrome extension integration actually works with Claude Code:

claude-code-guide(Research Claude Chrome extension)
⎿  Fetch(https://code.claude.com/docs/en/claude_code_docs_map.md)
Web Search("Claude in Chrome extension Claude Code browser control 2025")
Received 25.7KB (200 OK)
+1 more tool use (ctrl+o to expand)
ctrl+b ctrl+b to run in background

So it doesn't even know the difference now between MCP Playwright and Claude Chrome extension. And it keeps getting mixed up and saying it doesn't work even though everything's activated. 1 minute it works, 1 minute it doesn't work. It's confused. I wish you would tell. Test these gimmicks before you put them out and cause everybody stress with the crappy release as usual. This is meant to work seamlessly, but you've adjusted everything around so it doesn't.
