Summary of Changes

Hello @RudraNarayan94, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request significantly improves the compatibility and reliability of FadCrypt on Linux systems. It addresses several critical areas, such as system tool interaction, startup behavior, and file handling, ensuring the application functions as expected in a Linux environment. Additionally, new test suites have been introduced to validate these improvements and other functionalities, including a fix for a high score bug in the Snake Game component.

Highlights

  • Enhanced Linux Compatibility: The core FadCrypt application for Linux (now FadCrypt_Linux.py) has received critical fixes to ensure full functionality on Linux systems, addressing system tools disabling, improved startup, and correct lock file permissions.
  • Robust Single Instance and Executable Detection: Implemented and tested proper SingleInstance mutex handling with cleanup, and enhanced executable detection logic specifically for Linux environments, ensuring the application behaves correctly and prevents multiple instances.
  • Improved Code Quality and Comprehensive Testing: The codebase has been cleaned and optimized. New dedicated test files (test_snake_fix.py and tests/test_fadcrypt_linux.py) have been added to verify critical functionalities, including a fix for a Snake Game high score bug and the various Linux compatibility features.

Code Review

This pull request significantly improves Linux compatibility by adding fixes and introducing a suite of tests. The renaming of FadCrypt-Linux.py to FadCrypt_Linux.py is a good style improvement. The addition of test files (test_snake_fix.py and tests/test_fadcrypt_linux.py) is a great step towards ensuring the application's reliability on Linux. My review focuses on improving the quality and maintainability of these new tests. I've suggested using standard testing practices like avoiding code duplication between tests and application code, and using mocking to enable currently disabled tests. These changes will make the test suite more robust and easier to maintain in the long run.

Did you test the app on Linux with all the functionality of locking apps actually working or not?
