I've added the Force mute option (enabled by default) in settings as part of #307 and the build for that will be #293 (comment), 100% not sure if this will fix it, but I think its a good direction for this issue and the ones that are similar to this.

additionally in the new v0.8.0 and above it targets music stream (you can disable this in settings), suppose you are in a call and also music/ ad is playing it will only mute the ad, leaving the call volume alone.

idk where you get the updates from, playstore has beta testing, not sure if we can use that to test dev builds.
but you can alwyas use the direct apk from this repo as it is github actions built
