What happened?
When the Display → Show VFO frequency at cursor checkbox is enabled, a frequency readout appears next to the mouse cursor as it moves horizontally across the spectrum/waterfall display, correctly reflecting the frequency at the cursor position. This part works as expected.
However, when the checkbox is unchecked to disable the feature, the frequency label that was last rendered is not cleared from the display. It remains frozen at its last-drawn position on the spectrum widget — no longer tracking the cursor, but also never erased. The ghost label persists until something else causes the widget to repaint that region (e.g., scrolling the waterfall, resizing the window, or moving the cursor over a different overlay element).
What did you expect?
When "Show VFO frequency at cursor" is disabled, the frequency label should be immediately erased from the display. The spectrum/waterfall widget should return to its normal appearance with no residual text artifacts.
Steps to reproduce
Launch AetherSDR 0.8.5 and connect to the FLEX-6600.
Open the Display menu and enable Show VFO frequency at cursor.
Move the mouse cursor over the spectrum or waterfall area — confirm the frequency label follows the cursor correctly.
Without moving the mouse, open the Display menu and uncheck "Show VFO frequency at cursor" to disable the feature.
Observe: The frequency value from step 3 remains drawn at its last position on the spectrum widget. It is no longer attached to the cursor and does not move.
Expected: The label disappears immediately when the feature is disabled.
