What happened?

I saw a post on Facebook's AetherSDR group stating that CW sidetone does not work on Windows 11. I checked my system and sure enough there is no sidetone when CWX in "Live" mode sends CW. The transmitter fires, but no sidetone is emitted. I saw a possible cause that there are no signed audio drivers in Windows. Is this a possibility? CW Sidetone slider doesn't make any difference and the button shows enabled.

Also when entering characters in the CW message window and pressing send nothing happens. I checked SmartSDR and when clicking the CWX menu item at the bottom it switches to cw mode automatically (which AetherSDR does not) and the Send works as expected.

What did you expect?

1. Sidetone on CWX,
2. Send button to send characters entered in the CW message window.
3. Switch to CW automatically if CWX menu is pressed

Steps to reproduce

1. Switch to CW mode
2. Press CWX menu at bottom to enter CWX mode
3. enter characters in live mode - radio transmits but no sidetone
4. Click send to get out of Live mode
5. Enter characters in message window
6. Press send again, nothing happens
