Description

Report preparation

  • I used the AI-assisted bug report tool (Help → Support → File an Issue)
  • I have attached a support bundle or log file

What happened?

In AetherSDR 0.8.15.1, when recording audio for live retransmission, the audio heard during the live stream is distorted.

However, the recorded audio file itself is saved correctly and plays back without distortion.

This issue happens on both:

Windows 10
Ubuntu

It has been reproduced with:

PC Audio
connections over VPN
connections over SmartLink

Steps to reproduce:

Start AetherSDR 0.8.15.1
Use PC Audio
Start an audio recording intended for live retransmission
Monitor the live retransmitted audio

Expected behavior:
The live retransmitted audio should sound the same as the recorded file, without distortion.

Actual behavior:
The live retransmitted audio is distorted, but the saved audio recording is correct.

Environment:

AetherSDR version: 0.8.15.1
OS: Windows 10 and Ubuntu
Audio mode: PC Audio
Network conditions: VPN and SmartLink
