Is it possible to get notifications of failed files by email?

I would like to receive notifications about failed files, but I don't use the currently provided methods (discord, healthchecks, telegram, webhook, pushbullet, pushover, gotfy, splunk or ntfy). However, I think a simple SMTP option would suffice.
