  • NEW: The reaction substructure search interface was redesigned and the search capabilities were significantly extended. You now can filter your search results by yield, experiment scale, user, project, and project group. The results now can be sorted by yield or experiment scale. The current search, including all filter settings, now can be saved for later re-use. The code was optimized to efficiently handle large numbers of experiments, as typically present on an optional ELN server database. The Search documentation was updated and extended accordingly.

    drawing
  • Enhanced: The ELN now starts up noticeably faster in the presence of a large number of expanded experiments in the experiments navigation tree.

  • Enhanced: A caps lock indicator (red dot) was added next to the password text boxes in the experiment finalization and restore from server dialogs.

  • FIX: Experiment headers located in result lists now don't have a context menu.

  • FIX: Opening the same server experiment multiple times opened it multiple times in the protocol area.

  • FIX: Synchronization flags were not reset locally after a restore from server.

  • Internal: The integrated Drawing editor ChemBytes Draw was migrated from .Net Framework 4.8 to .NET 10 to match the Phoenix ELN platform.

  • Change: Due to a recent change in a utilized component, Phoenix ELN from now on installs on 64 bit Windows systems only. The impact of this should be low, since 64 bit OS systems are the standard since several years.

Note: As an end-user you will only need the -Setup.exe installer below. The additional two 'Source code' archive items were auto-generated and can be ignored.

General enhancements

  • NEW: All experiments of a project group now can be bundeled into a single .zip archive containing their individual PDF documents. To do this, right-click the experiment group title and choose the Archive option from the context menu.

    drawing
  • Enhanced: Updated to latest version of PDF rendering component.

ChemBytes Draw enhancements:

  • NEW: So far, text above and below the reaction arrow was displayed in unformatted manner, as entered in the arrow text dialog. Now chemical formula subscripts, such as in Na2CO3, are detected and converted to actual subscripts in the resulting arrow text. And best of it: This also applies to previously created reaction sketches. See here for more information.

    drawing
  • NEW: The Biosequence live structure view now can be pinned to remain visible also after a biosequence was deselected in the reaction sketch (now the default behavior), which allows for a more consistent editing experience. This behavior can be toggled via the Pin button located at the top right corner of the structure view.

  • NEW:_ The 'Clean' functionality now supports Undo and Redo, and features an optimized cleanup arrangement.

  • Enhanced: Slightly larger font size of reaction arrow text and improved arrangement on arrow geometry.

  • Enhanced: Now dynamically updates product positions when arrow length changes due to arrow text input.

Note: As an end-user you will only need the -Setup.exe installer below. The additional two 'Source code' archive items were auto-generated and can be ignored.

Synthetic Connections sequence scheme fixes:

  • FIX: The vertical lines connecting branching or merging sequences were inaccurate in their vertical extent in some situations.
  • FIX: In some situations duplicate sequence numbers were generated.
  • Change: Parallel sequences now are assigned individual sequence numbers without character suffix (e.g. 2, 3 instead of 2a, 2b).

Note: As an end-user you will only need the -Setup.exe installer below. The additional two 'Source code' archive items were auto-generated and can be ignored.

Synthetic Connections changes:

  • NEW: The Synthetic Connections dialog now comes in dark mode, just because it (hopefully) looks better :-):

    drawing
  • NEW: The button for accessing this dialog was moved from the main toolbar to the bottom right corner of the current experiment's reaction sketch to better reflect that its functionality is based on the current reaction.

    drawing
  • NEW: So far synthetic connections to and from your current experiment were only based on your locally stored experiments. Now you can include the experiments of all users of your group or organization after selecting the Server Database option, which significantly enhances the value and scope of this analysis. Note that this is only possible for users connected to the optional in-house ELN server database:

    drawing
  • NEW: The blue Reference Step link in the info text below the dialog title now allows to always return to the reference step of the current synthetic analysis.

  • NEW: The sequence step arrows now display the maximum yield of all experiments referencing this step, instead of the number of experiments displayed before.

  • Enhanced: The current step in the steps scheme now is more prominently highlighted.

  • Enhanced: The size and location of this dialog window now is remembered.

  • FIX: Removed non-functional context menu on sequence rectangles.

Comments Control changes:

  • FIX: Pasting now preserves the original text formatting and unicode symbols, while keeping the Comment's default font size and family (unformatted text only was pasted before).

  • FIX: Highly improved spell checker performance.

  • FIX: Now limits the number of Comment text lines to 25 for preventing multiple issues caused by unlimited size.

ChemBytes Draw changes:

  • FIX: The template structures in the left side toolbar appeared blurry in some screen resolutions.

General changes:

  • Change: All application scroll bars now are narrower.

  • Change: Protocol item drag handles now are narrower.

Note: As an end-user you will only need the -Setup.exe installer below. The additional two 'Source code' archive items were auto-generated and can be ignored.

  • NEW: The newly introduced experiment groups now allow to efficiently structure projects into easily recognizable parts. Thus, you might want to organize your project experiments e.g. into the 'Initial Experiments' and 'Optimized Synthesis' groups. Or into groups titled 'Step 1', Step 2', etc. - See the help documentation for more details.

    drawing
  • NEW: The user properties dialog now allows to change the current user password.

  • NEW: Added subscript and superscript options to comments context menu

  • CHANGE: Reactant and product property side panels: Removed the ChemSpider info links, since ChemSpider unfortunately does not support external web searches anymore. Use the PubChem links instead.

  • FIX: After importing an originally finalized experiment from a file export, the header of resulting unfinalized copy marked it as finalized after printing or saving it as PDF.

  • Enhanced: Server database structure upgrade checks now also occur after every manual server (re-)connect.

  • Enhanced: Added F1 key shortcut to access help documentation.

Note: As an end-user you will only need the -Setup.exe installer below. The additional two 'Source code' archive items were auto-generated and can be ignored.

  • Enhanced: Addition Toolbar: Enhanced addition menu items featuring new icons and larger fonts.
    drawing

  • Enhanced: When scrolling down, the Addition Toolbar previously could be moved out of view at the bottom of the screen in large protocols. Now it remains sticky at the bottom of the view.

  • FIX: The keyboard shortcuts for copy, paste and cut (Ctrl+C, Ctrl-V, Ctrl-X) were ignored in text edits.

  • FIX: Material addition dialogs: Selecting a drop down menu material with Ctrl+Return resulted in a system error.

Note: As an end-user you will only need the -Setup.exe installer below. The additional two 'Source code' archive items were auto-generated and can be ignored.

  • NEW: Phoenix ELN now features a built-in spell checker which supports seven languages. It is available in the Comments protocol item as well as in the text areas of the Image and File protocol items. Its spelling context menu offers word suggestions and allows to add unrecognized terms directly to a custom dictionary, which is an invaluable tool for expanding your scientific vocabulary. The preferred spell check language can be specified via the main toolbar. Please note that spell checking is always disabled for finalized experiments, as they are read-only. - See the help documentation for more details.

    drawing
  • FIX: When adding Image and File protocol elements, these were always inserted instead of appended, ignoring the state of the Insert checkbox in the Addition Toolbar.

  • FIX: Adding an image or file protocol element using the Ctrl-8 shortcut replaced the image or file title of their comments section by "8".

  • FIX: The reaction substructure search did not include unfinalized local experiments, if the ELN was connected to the server in the previous session, but the server was unavailable in the current one.

Note: As an end-user you will only need the -Setup.exe installer below. The additional two 'Source code' archive items were auto-generated and can be ignored.
