Description
When creating a MeshCore # (hashtag) channel, the secret key displayed in MeshMonitor does not match the key shown in the MeshCore app. Additionally, the key appears different on every attempt — even for the same channel name.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a
#bot hashtag channel in the MeshCore app
- Open MeshMonitor v4.11.3 and view the channel secret
- Note the key does not match the MeshCore app
- Repeat 2–3 times — key shown in MeshMonitor differs on each attempt
Expected Behavior
The secret key displayed in MeshMonitor should match the key shown in the MeshCore app for the same # channel, and should be consistent across page loads/views.
Actual Behavior
- Key shown in MeshMonitor differs from what the MeshCore app shows
- Key changes on every attempt (not deterministic)
Version
MeshMonitor v4.11.3
Additional Context
Reported in Discord #help thread. Attempting to create a #bot hashtag channel that others could add. Awaiting example keys and logs from reporter — will update when available.
