Query Block: cannot change number of items for "default" query type #77886

Description

This might be more of a feature request than a bug. Let's say you want your normal default reading settings to 10 (Admin > Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most), but you create a author template and you want to show some info about the author and just a few posts from this author. You cannot do this without custom code. I should be able to drop in the query block on the author template and adjust the number of items to show while still using the default query type.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  1. set (Admin > Settings > Reading > Blog pages show at most) to 10
  2. view blog index page and see 10 posts
  3. create template in site editor for "author archives"
  4. add query block to author template
  5. see there is no option to change query results to [anything]
