Thanks for the PR! It is definitely a good idea to provide more precise errors, as seen in #845. The conflicts here are related to the current release process I just started. I think we can ignore them for now and I'll get back to reviewing this PR once the current release is completed. |

I just pushed a commit to master to scope out the current v1.13 release process, could you ideally move the entry for this PR to the current Unreleased section? |
