Missing Volume Control For Audio on Mobile Devices #1364

Description

I'm submitting a:

  • bug report => please fork one of these codesandbox examples with a repro of your issue and include a link to it below
  • feature request => please use the user stories repo
  • support request => Please do not submit support requests here, use stackoverflow

Current behavior:

  • When viewing audio content on a mobile device, the volume control is not visible. This contrasts with video content, where the volume slider appears and functions correctly, allowing users to adjust the volume up or down as expected. On desktop devices, the volume control is visible for both audio and video, but on mobile, it’s missing for audio playback.

Expected behavior:

  • The volume control should be visible and functional for audio content on mobile devices, just as it is for video and on desktop views.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open and play the audio file on a mobile device.
  2. Notice that the volume control is not visible or accessible.
  3. Now play a video file. Observe that the volume control is present and functioning.

Impact:
This affects user experience, especially in environments where system volume isn’t easily accessible or where users expect in-player volume control consistency across content types.
