I am using a build from 9539-master-e600e4780. This issue also occurs on stable.

When launching Aegisub on sway with any DPI scaling that is not 1 (this includes fractional scaling and integer scaling), there are two primary issues that occur. First, the caret when typing will slowly start to offset to the left. Second, the video playback will be severely disjointed. If the DPI scaling is set to 1x, everything works as expected.

When attempting to launch Aegisub on xwayland, adding a video causes a memory access violation, and the program crashes.
