GitHub now supplies SHA256 digests for release binaries. This PR uses them when available to improve performance (without downloading binaries). See also: https://github.blog/changelog/2025-06-03-releases-now-expose-digests-for-release-assets/
go: -d flag is deprecated. -d=true is a no-op
