I know this would probably be a breaking change - and probably a non-trivial one - but I'm gonna throw it out there anyways.
It'd be wonderful to have pins that can go on any side of the chip through the customize menu - even if they default to its current behavior. I've come across a lot of situations where I wish I could put data/bus connections on the North/South and control signals on the West/East of a chip - or similar.
If this were to be a thing, I'd propose having an arrow or triangle on each input that indicates its directionality (its an input or an output) as a visual indicator.
