Description
The most recent update, to 3.1, has made Pinta unusable. I do a lot of rectangle selecting and it is excruciatingly slow; it selects a few hundred pixels and then when I'm still dragging the mouse, the entire UI freezes, requiring the use of xkill to stop the program.
To Reproduce
Use an older version of Pinta (2.1.1 AppImage) to open a large .jpg file from a DSLR (5504 x 8256px) and select a 2/3 chunk of the image. It's very fast. Use the new Pinta (3.1) and the symptoms above result.
Additional Info
The fact that 2.1.1 works normally and 3.1 doesn't, within 5 minutes of each other during the same session with no logout or reboot between them, proves that 3.1 is at fault. I can only guess that something in the message loop got broken.
Version
Linux Mint 22.2 (Cinnamon) and Pinta 3.1 (flatpak). Dell 7865, 64GB RAM, AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5955WX 16-Cores, NVidia A4400 Quadro 16GB.
