@bzeiss Do you want this mapping for device types in the control board UI as well? I was thinking not, since you're dealing with extremely limited screen real-estate for displaying strings, so I did the easy local solution for the web interface for starters.

By the way, in general, I like that change. I think it makes the UI easier to understand. I have tested the branch and taken a look at the code. It looks fine to me.
