We, the people still maintaining PQClean, have been slowly been coming to the conclusion that basically, none of us really have time to run PQClean any more. It’s been stuck in its holding pattern for a little bit on the long side now, and we’re actively out of date on many of the implementations now as well. I don’t think I will have time any time soon to play catch up.

We are planning to retire PQClean by archiving this repository in or after July 2026.
We are going to add a warning message to the README: #603.

This issue will be pinned and serve as additional advanced notice. We are not entirely aware of all the users of PQClean implementations, so please help us spread the word or let us know if we should reach out to anybody.
