windows git installs submodules but for some reason the executable explodes with some weird path error. old git version, perhaps?

Proposed Solution

the same way we do #37660 for UV, we should bundle at least our own git in the installer.

Alternatives Considered

working around bugs in random user-installed version of stuff is infinite cat and mouse.
