Describe the bug
The Detailed PV model requires that at least one period be defined for the "Enable time series losses with custom periods" on the Losses page even when custom time periods are disabled.
A workaround solution:
- Open your file in SAM 2023.12.17.
- On the Losses page, under AC Losses or DC Losses, click Edit losses.
- In the Edit Losses window, click Enable time series losses with custom periods.
- Click Add Period.
- Click OK.
To Reproduce
- Create a Detailed PV / No Financial case.
- On the Losses page, under System Availability, for AC losses click Edit losses.
- Check Enable time series losses with custom periods and click Delete to remove the period.
- Clear Enable time series losses with custom periods to disable the option.
- Click OK and run a simulation.
adjust_periods:fail(adjust_periods, cols=3): 1
Simulation pvsamv1 failed :adjust_periods:fail(adjust_periods, cols=3): 1

Simulation grid failed :gen not assigned
SAM 2022.11.21 and earlier did not have this requirement.
Expected behavior
For both AC and DC losses, a period should not be required when custom periods is disabled.
Operating System and Version
- OS: Windows
- Version: SAM 2023.12.17
